Ivy and I planted some seeds in a tray we hope to later transplant to her garden bed outside on the hill. Snapdragons, Chamomile, Iceberg Lettuce, Cress, and Swiss Chard. This is also a test for the viability of the Peat Moss I had in a bag from months ago.
About 3 weeks ago I put some of it in a bucket with rainwater and a little bit of hydrogen peroxide to rehydrate it. For this batch of seedlings, I took some out and microwaved in a big ziplock bag intending to make sure there are no bugs. I used about 60/40 mix of Peat and Perlite.
Update from 12/3 – several rows germinated, and the Cress even sprouted about 20 hours after being planted! We’ll see how these seedlings do.
