The compost pile was at 110°F this morning. After moving the thermometer slightly, it read 114°F. It’s been holding roughly this range for four days. I’d like to see it climb into the 120°F to 135°F range, but from what I’ve read it’s better to give it a few more days before calling it a stall.
I started some desert willow seeds today, soaking some first. Really small sample size but I like doing tests like this.
I used Gary’s Top Pot mix, with the top quarter-inch finely sifted and mixed 50/50 with horticultural sand. I haven’t started seeds in this mix before.
Even though I watered the lemon tree yesterday, the top inch already feels fairly dry. I’m sticking to the plan and waiting until tomorrow to water again. I also noticed a small amount of yellowing on a few leaves, which I’ll keep an eye on.
