Preparing for Spring

The pole beans growing in the center in-ground bed are yellowing. I think it might just be the end of their life cycle. But it could also be that those beds have been subject to holding water. Something about the slope of the lawn and the fact that some sprinkler pvc was cracked around them for a while made the soil compacted. I think oxygen is harder to come by there.

I used a manual core aerator in some spots, careful not to get too close to the garlic, begonias, and remaining pole beans. Then I sifted some compost and filled some of the holes made by the aerator spikes and watered everything.

Ivy and I picked some Snow Peas. Alena, Grandpa, and Grandma really like the way they taste. Fun to have stuff like that you can just wash off and eat immediately. But I also plan to try some in stir fry.

Also, we harvest the final remaining potato grow bag. This is the biggest potato yet!
