Pumpkin Arch

9/21 to 10/5. In a two week period the pumpkin went from ~2 feet to ~9, all the way around the top of the arch. These leaves were so big and healthy. A couple of things learned here. First, when we grow pumpkins next year on the arch we need to get a smaller variety. I transplanted the Connecticut Field Pumpkin here, which can get up to 25 lbs.

Second, the timing was a little bit late. Our big pumpkin didn’t get orange until Thanksgiving. Third, I will try to manually pollinate more because we had 3 male flowers, but I think we can get more. Also, 2 dropped and I’m not sure why. Could have been heat, lack of pollinators, etc.
